Chapter 1639: The Lord’s Fury (2)Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

When Gu Xijiu was on the bed, she tried hard to suppress the automatic response of the spiritual power of her body to resist the penetrating cold.

The procedure was quite unbearable. Gu Xijiu’s hands started to tremble, but she kept her composure and remained calm.

Since she was trading her body for her long-term peace and freedom, she would do it. She would take the pain for the sake of a better future.

If possible, she would even choose to have her past and memory completely wiped out to forget about the love and the betrayal. She wanted to start anew.

She asked Long Siye if it was possible for her to have the Heartbreak Potion so her past emotions could be forgotten. Long Siye answered yes, but he added that it was not suitable for her use. Her soul was marked with a unique marking. Even the legendary Mengpo Soup would not be able to make her forget about her past.

However, Long Siye also told her that after the successful switch to her new body, she would not have the memory of being another person other than herself. She would only be Gu Xijiu.

Long Siye was positioned beside her as he started performing the rituals. She could feel the increasing strength of the cold on the bed. Gradually, the cold started to break through her last defense from her spiritual power and penetrated her blood vessels. She was about to lose consciousness.

“Bam!” A very loud noise came roaring, as though the ground had cracked. The entire room shook a little.

The room shook in great intensity; like a ma.s.sive earthquake, the apparatus in the sealed chamber started to shake and fall off the table.

The Ice Jade Bed that Gu Xijiu was lying on started to shake intensely, thus waking her up from her sleep. She opened her eyes.

What was happening? Was that an earthquake?

She turned to Long Siye for answers, only to notice that he was confused as well.

The confusion lasted only for a few seconds as the entrance was shattered. They could hear the noise and the bustle that was happening outside. One of them shouted, “My Lord! The arrival of The Lord!”

The voice belonged to one of Long Siye’s disciples. Soon, a white shadow flashed before their eyes and entered the room.

The spell that Long Siye was casting fell from his hand. He turned his head and looked up. What was The Lord doing here?

Before he could fully comprehend the situation, the white shadow came to them like a powerful storm that was impossible to be stopped, giving them no time to react. An enormous strike came from the white shadow. It aimed directly at the ice coffin. A loud, impactful outburst could then be heard.

The white shadow started to gleam with a sudden brief burst of white light. The light surrounded Gu Xijiu, who was still helplessly lying on the bed, thus pulling her up and away.

Gu Xijiu floated away from the bed buoyantly into the hands of the white shadow.

It all happened too quickly, almost in the blink of an eye. Long Siye had no chance to react.

When he finally made sense of what happened, the room was already scattered about in a mess, as though a ma.s.sive hurricane had just destroyed it.

The ice coffin was now in pieces. The cloned body in the coffin no longer existed.

As for Gu Xijiu, some parts of her circulation were frozen by the piercing cold of the Ice Jade Bed. Obtuse, her reactions were slower than usual.

The blocked vessels had resisted her ability to react. When she could finally get a grasp of what happened, she was already in the arms of another man, whose hand pressed firmly against her back.

A continuous flow of warm airstream continued to penetrate her skin. The warmth started to move steadily in a current to all her limbs and resolved the noxious cold that had dominated her system. The warmth regenerated the activity of her vessels and thus revived her blood circulation.

The man was in a complete white. His robe was white, even his hat was white as well. His snow-white mask made him look like an ice statue. When Gu Xijiu was in his arms, she felt warm, like she had just fallen into a heater.
